Le Chateau is a 17th
century home set on the edge of the village of Le Ham where once it acted
as the "Manoir". The village is situated on the edge of
the Normandy Maine National Park and is set in rolling countryside of
flowery meadows and wooded hills.
The area is full of
interesting old towns and pretty villages bathed in the clear Northern
French sunlight and full of the traditional french life of markets and outdoor
pursuits.
The house has been
divided into 5 holiday apartments all of which are very individual.
Dependent upon your needs there are apartments for couples and apartments
for families. There are self catering apartments and rooms for bed
& breakfast.
In the grounds there is
a 3 en-suite bedroom gite and on the other side of the village and out
into the countryside is a small farmhouse which is very remote - a car is
definitely required as it is 7-8 kms. from the nearest village or town.
The grounds include a
pretty lake to laze beside whilst fishing, an area where for the more
energetic, you could play boules, volley ball and many other garden
games. There is a small swimming pool for the use of all the guests
and BBQ's to use also.

The
area is at the edge of Normandy, Brittany and the
Loire. The village is 2 kilometers south of the N12
trunk route from Paris to Brest about half way between the
towns of Mayenne and Alencon. On
the edge of the Normandy Maine National Park the area is
one of great natural beauty. The gently rolling
countryside has lovely old farms dotted in sleepy
hollows. The villages drowse in the sun and there
are many medieval townships, the Romans had a large
settlement nearby and prehistoric man has left his mark in
the caves. Whilst
it is a rural area, there are many activities, inland
lakes for swimming, sailing and canoes. Pony
trekking, off road biking and hundreds of kilometres of
good country walks. There is ample opportunity for
