apartment is part of the old Algarvian Country house which is
situated in 12 acres of Orange groves with a private stretch of
the river Arade to fish or watch the wildlife from the
banks. There are algarvian cane ceilings and thick walls
which remains cool in the summer and warm in the
winter.
There
is a large lounge/dining room with open fireplace and is
comfortably furnished to accommodate
6 persons.
The
ground floor apartment has 3 bedrooms - two doubles and one twin-bedded
room. A kitchen with gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave
and other appliances. Maid service is provided 3 times a
week and a welcome pack.
Within
the grounds of Horta Da Ribeira there are terraces and lawns
with sun-loungers surrounding the private shared pool. The
property is great for children as there is a large amount of
land for them to play and a garden with a play-frame with a
trapeze and a platform swing. The
pool is surrounded by lawns and terraces with sun loungers and
there is a BBQ close by with shady covered terraces to eat your
meals al-fresco style. There

For
those of you that enjoy the quieter pursuits, it is also a good area for walking and bird-watching.
Also there is fishing available in the river bordering the farm. And
from the property to Silves town centre is a pleasant 10-15
minutes walk along a quiet lane with a short cut to the Roman
bridge along a river-side track ========================= The
nearby ancient moorish town of Silves is only 5 minutes drive
away and this walled city with cobbled streets, hilltop castle
and cathedral offers all modern amenities such as Supermarkets,
Banks, Post Office and many traditional and varied restaurants
and bars. The Fabrica do Ingles is an entertainment
complex with a Cork Museum to visit during the day and at night
there are restaurants and bars with Live music. The
complex also has laser and fountain displays in the summer
months.

The
coast is only a 15 minutes drive from the property with a choice
of quiet sandy beaches or the larger resorts with water sports
including pedaloes, jetskis, windsurfing and scuba-diving.
Also the opportunity to take a boat trip to visit the caves or
view the sea-life from a glass-bottomed boat.
Nearby
there are also golf resorts,
a
tennis club, water parks, deep sea fishing, alligator park,
dolphin-shows and horse riding.
It
is also within easy driving distance to the mountain spa resort
of Monchique and the towering cliffs of Cape St. Vincent.
