The historic castle town of Denia has a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants offering a wide range of international and Spanish cuisine. There are regular local fiestas - the Fallas in March, (the burning of satirical monuments in the street), the Fogueres of San Juan (songs and fires on the seashore), the Bous a la mar (Bulls at the sea) in July and the Moors and Christians in August, when you will see marching bands, fireworks and street parades.
Shopping in the town of Denia is a must and every Monday morning a local market is held for those searching out those extra holiday bargains. In the evening there is a night market opposite the harbour where you can also sit, eat, drink and watch the fishermen bringing in their daily catch. Denia is bursting with superb restaurants offering delicious food at very reasonable prices. There are also music bars, some being located on the beach, and discos open until the early hours if you feel that energetic! For golfers there are three main courses in the immediate area these being La Sella, Olivia and Javea. You can take excursions from the harbour to neighbouring resorts, one of the longer trips being to Ibiza and Formentera. Other local activities include tennis, horse riding, go-karting, fishing and wind surfing.
Denia is renowned for its many festivals throughout the year. If you get the opportunity to join in with the locals don’t miss the chance to do so.
Access to Denia - The airports of Alicante and Valencia are both approximately 100 Kms (62 miles) away. The National route N-332 Valencia-Alicante and the A-7 Motorway (exit 62) are just in land. There is also a rail link to Denia from Alicante and all points between
