This Manor House is close to the pedestrianised shopping district, cafes, restaurants serving mouth watering fresh sardines and other fish, which you can wash down with the excellent local red wine! The popular resort and beautiful beach at Praia da Rocha is about 1 mile away.
As you go through the front door into the original courtyard where the coach and horses would enter, you are taken back a few centuries in time to a period of very gracious living with tapestries, hand painted tiles, paintings and antique furniture. The Courtyard is now the dining room and off this courtyard is the small kitchen equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Alongside the kitchen is a useful food preparation room. A hall leads off the courtyard, and leads to a bedroom wing and converted stable block with a total of 8 double bedrooms and 4 twin bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.
Clients should realise that the size and furnishings of the bedrooms does vary, and someone has to have the biggest and best room, and someone the smallest room. All rooms have electric ceiling fans and security safes.
Stairs lead to the first floor hall and the huge sitting room with two French doors to the large covered veranda, which can be used as an additional open air dining area, and which has a staircase leading down to the garden, and pool. There is a satellite TV and video recorder. Some bedrooms are also on this floor.
The walled garden is absolutely delightful, the centrepiece being the 11 metre swimming pool, surrounded by ornate terraces, fishponds and statues. The swimming pool can be heated (at extra cost) It should be noted that the pool has a minimum depth of 1.3 metres at the shallow end, and guests with young children should exercise extra diligence with their children because of this.
