It's a pity this property isn't more photogenic. The interior is gorgeous and of top quality, the exterior quite charming and secluded. And there's so much to do and see nearby.

Exterior
The setting of the property is quite unique; it is set in one hectare of grounds and completely surrounded by a small winding river which joins the other rivers of the local marshland. Alarmed security bracelets are supplied for young children to protect them from the pool, as well as from the river although it is not very deep. There is a grassy area to one side of the property. There is great fishing in the area and fishing permits can be purchased close by.
Interior
Furnished and decorated to a high standard the interior is full of charm and character. Accommodation is spread out into two buildings, with all rooms at ground level, making it ideal for two families. In the Main House is a living/dining room with a well-equipped American-style kitchen, a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room, and a separate wc. The Annexe consists of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with an en suite shower room with a wc.
There are 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

Description of Area in & around Pays-de-la-loire
This tastefully renovated farmhouse is typical of the "Marais Poitevin", an unusual and charming part of the southern Vendée also referred to as "Venise Verte", a universe of water in attractive marshland. The property is located on the edge of the biological reserve of Nalliers-Mouzeuil, a wonderful place for walking and discovering the local fauna and flora. Nalliers (3km) has basic shops and services and tennis courts. At Luçon (15km) there is a wider range of shops, supermarkets and a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Fontenay-le-Comte (20km) is an interesting artistic and historic town with a market on Saturdays with concerts and theatre all year round.
The Atlantic Coast offers a good selection of beaches between 45km and 65km away.There is a leisure lake for swimming, fishing, windsurfing, and with pedaloes at Mervent (30km). Horse riding is possible at Ste-Gemme-la-Plaine (10km). The area is ideal for cycling (bikes are supplied). Boat rides can be taken along the larger rivers of the Marais. There is an 18 hole golf course 40km away at Nesmy, near La Roche-sur-Yon. The spectacular medieval theme park at Puy du Fou is 62km away, and a must with or without children.
