Description of Area in & around Tavira
Coast/Beach
Tavira Island has recently been voted in the top 10 best beaches in the world. It is accessible by ferry or river taxi for a 5 minute trip.
Golf
The Eastern Algarve has a growing number of golf courses all within easy reach of Tavira.
Travel
Car hire is not required, though an advantage for seeing all the beauty and places of interest this region has to offer.
Only 30 km from Faro airport and close to the bus terminal, the villa is very easy to find. Taxi from Faro shouldn't cost more than 40 euros. Jerez de Fronteira, in Spain is another airport option, being only about 3 hours drive away. Seville is reached within 2 hours and Lisbon in 3.5 hours

The apartment is 100m away from the nearest mini market for grocery shopping, 4 larger supermarkets and shopping centre are within walking distance. Mini bank and library with free internet access within 200m. Large selection of both traditional and modern restaurants. The Spanish border 30 minutes in a car and Seville 90 minutes.

Divided by a small river crossed by pedestrian and Roman bridges, Tavira remains an authentic and charming tapestry of old and new, a legacy from its colourful past. Summer brings a variety of outdoor and cultural entertainment to Tavira, including 2 outdoor cinema festivals.
Fresh water streams, small waterfalls and rivers merge with the warmest seas of the Atlantic which lines a 12km white sand stretch of semi-duned islands, creating plenty of idealic pockets to discover... A haven for fishing and cockle picking!
Daytime entertainment for children can be found in the large water parks on the otherside of Faro, which run most of the year due to the good climate.
