This location offers many attractions and activities and is a perfect base to explore Northland.
Walk off the large deck on to a sandy all tide swimming beach or swim out to the pontoon anchored just off shore. This fully self contained bach (the New Zealand term for beach house) features four bedrooms sleeping up to 12 people and includes linen, towels and cleaning. The holiday home is fully furnished with a full kitchen, modern appliances, BBQ and is equipped for entertaining.
Self cater or choose from the variety of restaurants over the hill in Russell, restaurants cater from cafe and bistro dining to world class and even a vineyard restaurant nearby. Bars range from the famous Duke of Marlborough hotel to the Bay of Island Swordfish club. There is even a pizza restaurant with take out or delivery service. or a local vineyard.
Bedrooms - sleeps 12 comprises 4 bedrooms (1 king size master bedroom and 3 doubles with extra single and twin bunks) and there's a cot available if required.

If you have access to a boat there is an excellent boat ramp on the beach with ski lane and a deep water mooring available in front of the house.
Close to a variety of shops and ferry to Paihia, the tourist capital of Northland.
Russell was the first capital of New Zealand and one of the first European settlements. The town is rich in history with a variety of shops and services that do not spoil the old charm. Hours can be spent in the museum tracing the towns history from the first European settlers, whaling and marine history. Even the headstones at New Zealand's first church have a story to tell.
There are so many activities to choose from to make your days fun-packed and very different.
A special Attraction is to "Swim with the Dolphins" or watch the whales at play in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. A great holiday spot all the year round.

You pass through Romantic Russell to reach Tapeka Point - just over 1km on the other side of Flagstaff hill. In Russell you will find many attractions and many more shops.
Shops include 2 supermarkets, bakery, butcher, liquor, video rental, hardware, news agent, business centre, famous fish & chips, antiques, gifts, fuel, fishing tackle, dive fills, attraction booking offices, hardware, fashion, antiques, pottery and more.
Passenger ferries operate continuously to the tourist town of Paihia where additional shops and attractions can be found. A number of attractions leave from Russell wharf including the fast Excitor trip to the hole in the rock, R Tucker Thomson sailing ship, fishing charters and dolphin encounter cruisers. A medical clinic and chemist are also in the main shopping area.
