Benissa, Alicante, Costa Blanca, Spain
The town of Benissa has 8300 inhabitants and it is found surrounded by mountains such as Bernia, la Solana, Oltá, Malla Verda and the sea.
The visitor that comes to Benissa and walks around the centre part of the town will find: the square of the antic church, La Lonja, the monument to The Riberero, the culture centre, the house of the youth, the Cloister of the Monastery of the Franciscan Patters, some streets of the medieval period, and the important church dedicated to the Purissima Xiqueta, which is the symbol of Benissa and the cathedral of the Marina Alta.
The mountains near to town have deep ravines and a long list of Partidas (Areas that are named) all around the local area where small and cosy Ermitas (little churches) invite to the quietness and rest. You can also enjoy the beaches nearby and swim in the clear water of the area.
For the visitors who want to see their fiestas, Benissa has several during the year. They start at January with a Fair and the Porrat de Sant Antoni, in April they have the fiestas dedicated to their Saint La Purissima Xiqueta, and they have Moors and Christians in June. Benissa is a town where the foreigner is always well received.

San Jaime), Walking, Rent a Quads in Benissa ( to 5 km near the petrol station), Donkey riding in Jalón ( to 11 km), Hiking trails in Jalon (Bernia mountain), about 45 minutes by the motorway to the Water Parks of Benidorm (Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Mítica) about 30 minutes of the Safari Park Vergel, you can also visit the coves of Benidoleig and Ebo Valley.
