Description of Area in & around Parcent, Jalon Valley
It is situated about 20km from the Sea and 1 km from the Spanish village of Parcent in the Jalon Valley with Calpe being the nearest beach.
Parcent is situated in the Pop’s Valley, in the Marina Alta. It is characteristic of its mountain views, and the sports that are available such as para-gliding and hang-gliding or simply walking and enjoying the picturesque views. Your camera will be in full use in such a beautiful scenic environment.
The main mountain of the town is often where competitions are held on bikes and racing cars.
The town of Parcent is 350 above sea level, yet, in less than 20 minutes, you can reach the beaches of the Costa Blanca. Parcent has all the sports facilities with swimming pool, tennis courts, football, and the local sport Pelota Valenciana.
There are a number of restaurants in the Parcent area to suit all tastes and the opportunity to sample the wonderful wines of the area.
August is Fiesta time in Parcent and all visitors to the area are very welcome to join in with the celebrations with religious themes and bands playing traditional spanish music.
Local Activities: Horse Riding ( in Benissa to 12 km), Golf ( to 20 km in C.G. BENISSA. Urb. San Jaime), Walking, Rent a Quads in Benissa ( to 12 km near the petrol station), Donkey riding in Jalón ( to 6 km), Hiking trails in Jalon (Bernia mountain), about 45 minutes by the motorway to the Water Parks of Benidorm (Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Mítica), about 30 minutes of Safari Park Vergel, you can also visit the coves of Benidoleig and the Valley of Ebo.
