Mar de Cristal, Mar Menor, Costa Calida, Murcia, Spain
The Mar Menor enjoys average temperatures of 30c during the summer months. With an average of 320 days of sunshine each year and this being one of the driest regions of Spain, it makes an ideal holiday destination in both summer and winter.
There are activities to suit all ages and these include horse riding, go-karting, tennis, golfing and a vast range of nautical sports.
La Manga club is around 5 minutes by car and this offers numerous championship golf courses, tennis courts, spa facilities and many other activities so you can do as little or as much as you like on your holiday.
Within the area are a choice of national and international cuisine at very reasonable prices so you will be spoilt for choice.
This region of Spain is situated on the Costa Calida. The Costa Calida is on the South East coast and is the driest region of Spain and enjoying of average 320 days of sunshine each year. It is therefore ideal for a winter break aswell as summer holidays.
The Mar Menor is the nearest sea which is a large salt water lagoon which enjoys warm shallow waters ideal for all water sports aswell as being a good spot for families.
The Mar Menor is famous for The Black Mud which is said to have therapeutic qualaties and helps in the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis and many other ailments.
The waters of the Mar Menor can reach up to 30c during the summer months which is why water sports are so popular here.
The area around the Mar Menor is quite flat which makes it ideal for walking and cycling.
The house is situated in Mar de Cristal which is an up and coming area. The village has a selection of shops and restaurants and is only a 5 minute walk from the beach. You can get Tapas, snacks or full meals on the beach front.
There are various markets in the neighboring villages which sell a wide selection of fruit & vegetables, meat, fish, household goods, pictures, clothes and other household items.
La Manga Club is a short drive away which also offers a whole host of activities including golf, tennis and spa facilities which are open to the public all year.
There is a selection of shops and restaurants within walking distance but if you travel a little further afield you can find a large selection of restaurants offering national and international dishes at very reasonable prices.
Bycicle hire is available in the village and there is a go-karting track just a short car ride away. There are also numerous boat trips and nautical sports available.
