Playa Honda, Mar Menor, Costa Calida, Murcia, Spain
The Mar Menor is a large salt water lagoon which enjoys average water temperatures of 30c during the summer months.
Because of the water temperatures, this makes an ideal location for all sorts of water sports. There are international schools closeby which offer all sorts of nautical activies from scuba diving, water skiing to wind surfing.
The Mar Menor is also home to The Black Mud which is said to help treat rheumatism, arthritis and many other ailments.
Playa Honda is an up and coming village with a selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Quad bikes are available for hire in the village.
Just a short car ride away is the world famous La Manga Club which offers championship golf courses aswell as tennis, spa facilities and much more.
The Mar Menor enables you to try your hand at many water sports including scuba diving, wind surfing and water skiing to name but a few. The land around the Mar Menor is relatively flat which makes it ideal for walking and cycling and bikes can be hired nearby.
The nearby villages have markets of varying days of the week and these provide a large selection of fruit & vegetables, meat, fish, household items and many other products.
Just a short car ride away there are many more shops and restaurants which offer national and international cuisine at very reasonable prices.
