Carvoeiro is a very attractive resort retaining charm and character and with a very good choice of shops, bars and restaurants. A wide range of sports facilities are available in Carvoeiro including three golf courses, tennis and water sports. Near Carvoeiro is one of the best water slide parks in the Algarve. The harbour town of Portimao is a 15 minute drive along the coast where there is an excellent shopping centre in the old town and fresh fish lunches by the harbour should not be missed.
